If there is a basic skill everyone SHOULD learn, it’s customer service. No matter what your profession is, you will eventually have to deal with a few humans, either by providing service or receiving. Knowing a little about customer service grants you the skills necessary to interact efficiently with people and this is something helpful not only in your business life, but in your personal life as well.

It is also something all companies should invest a little bit more in. A happy customer is more likely to return and give positive reviews to its peers. An unhappy customer is more likely to complain in public and in social media, thus spreading negative word a lot faster.
